Tom Hutchins, DVM – Owner/Partner

Diplomate, American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (Equine Practice)

Dr. Hutchins is originally from southwest Oklahoma. He received Bachelor of Science degrees in Biochemistry and Biology from Cameron University in Lawton, OK. He graduated from Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1999. He also completed a large-animal rotating-internship at Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine with primary emphasis in equine medicine and surgery in June 2000.

After completion of his internship, he began his veterinary career in Salado, TX in an exclusively equine practice performing lameness evaluations, dentistry, and soft-tissue and minor orthopedic surgeries both in-house and on an ambulatory basis. A family decision was made to move to Weatherford, TX in 2004. The next chapter in his career began at Equine Sports Medicine and Surgery working alongside an elite group of veterinarians at its world-class referral hospital and on racetracks across the country. He enjoyed treating and working with some of the finest Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse racehorses from 2004-2013. In 2009, Dr. Hutchins became certified as a Diplomate by the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP) specializing in Equine Practice. In addition, two case reports, references, descriptions of practice procedures, and professional education records must be submitted and pass review. Dr. Hutchins completed his required maintenance of certification in the Spring of 2019.

Dr. Hutchins’ primary focus is on the diagnosis and treatment of performance issues, primarily respiratory and lameness, associated with all breeds and disciplines of performance horses. He also has special interest in podiatry and dentistry. You can also find him working on a few food animals as well. Dr. Hutchins is licensed to practice in Arizona, Florida, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, and Washington. He travels to the northwest several times per year to perform equine sports medicine services for clients in that region. He is also a member of the American Association of Equine Practitioners, American Veterinary Medical Association, and Texas Equine Veterinary Association.He is also happily married to his wife Tiffani and has one daughter, Hunter.

 


 

Craig R. Sweatt, DVM – Owner/Partner

Dr. Sweatt is originally from Plainview, Texas where his family was heavily involved in agriculture. He was involved in both 4-H and FFA and enjoyed successes at livestock exhibitions and shooting sports. Upon high school graduation he began college at Texas A&M University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science. Upon completion of his B.S. he began and completed a Master of Science in Animal Nutrition at Texas A&M University.

He graduated with a M.S. in 1996 and began veterinary school at Texas A&M University. He graduated from Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2000 and began his career in Spearman, TX. As an associate veterinarian, Dr. Sweatt received invaluable experience in Equine and Food Animal Medicine that shaped the way he practices to this day.

In 2002, Dr. Sweatt moved to Parker Co. and began working at a mixed animal practice until leaving in March 2004. He then formed Mobile Veterinary Services where he went from a few clients to a client list of over 2,000. After 12 years as a solo practitioner, Dr. Sweatt partnered with Dr. Hutchins in forming North Texas Veterinary Hospital, PLLC.

Dr. Sweatt primary focus is on equine patients that include lameness issues, dentistry, ophthalmology, and routine preventative health.

He also assists and consults for numerous ranches in herd health on cattle herds.He is a member of the American Association of Equine Practitioners and the Texas Veterinary Medical Association.

Dr. Sweatt is married to Shannon and has 3 great kids, Ashtyn, Callen, and Alyssa.

 


 

Mary Rabke, DVM – Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Mary Rabke (pronounced Rab-key) grew up in Odessa, TX where she was active in 4-H and FFA showing Quarter Horses, goats, and sheep. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science at Sul Ross State University. She followed that with a Master of Science in Ruminant Nutrition at Texas A&M University – Kingsville and a second Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science. She a recent graduate of Midwestern University where she received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Rabke enjoys working with all species of animals and has recently added acupuncture for both large and small animals to her repertoire of services. She is a member of the American Association of Bovine Practitioners, the Texas Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Veterinary Medical Association.

She enjoys outdoor activities and spending time with her husband and her dog, Ziggy.

 


 

Cheyenne Hudecek, DVM

Dr. Cheyenne is a born and raised Southern Arizona native that is joining us as a new graduate from the inaugural class from the University of Arizona’s College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Cheyenne has a passion for mixed animal medicine and enjoys the challenges of working with both large and small animals. Her special interests include surgery, preventative medicine, and theriogenology. Dr. Cheyenne is excited to be making the move to Texas with her dog (Bear) and horse (Cash).

 


 

Dianna Brown – Office Manager

Before joining NTVH as Office Manager, Dianna had 12 years of prior what she does and says the opportunity to work with these Doctors and this staff has been great. She and her husband have been married for 42 years and have lived in Peaster for 21 years.

They are blessed with 3 amazing children and their spouses, and her favorite part … 7 awesome grandsons and a beautiful granddaughter!! Dianna enjoys cooking, fishing, sports, and spending time with family and her grandchildren.

 


 

Katelyn Belvin – Licensed Veterinary Technician

Katelyn grew up in Southwest Louisiana and has always had a passion for animals. After graduating high school, she moved to Waco, TX to attend McLennan Community College and receive her Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology. After graduating, Katelyn became a full-time RVT for the 6666 Ranch in Guthrie, TX. In order to further her career, God led Katelyn to Weatherford to begin working for Dr. Craig Sweatt at Mobile Veterinary Services in August, 2013.

She feels blessed to have transitioned into the new team at North Texas Veterinary Hospital. When not at work, she enjoys spending time with family, friends and outdoors with her two ‘dog-children’.

 


 

Heather Turner – Licensed Veterinary Technician

Heather was born and raised in northeast Washington where she has always had a passion for animals. Her parents purchased her first horse when she was 10 and she has never been without one since. She graduated with her AA degree in Veterinary Technology at Yakima Valley Community College in 2013 and has since worked for small and large animal clinics in Washington, Montana and Arizona before coming here to Texas. She moved here with her dog, 2 horses, 7 ducks and 7 goldfish in September 2020 with the hopes of getting more involved in showing Ranch Versatility and cow events and training a cow dog.

 


 

Jinnelle Jarrett – Veterinary Technician

Jinnelle was born and raised in Toledo, OH and moved to Texas in 1992. She has always had a love for surgery and medicine, whether it be for human or animal, and started working in veterinary medicine in 1997 for an equine practitioner as an assistant. She graduated from
Weatherford College in 1999 with an Associate Degree in Equine Production and Management. Jinnelle is currently in the process of completing her Bachelor of Science in Biology with plans to attend medical school in the near future.

She has loved the past 25 years of working in this field and looks forward to the next few to come before transitioning to the human side of medicine. When Jinnelle is not attending classes or working in the veterinary hospital, she enjoys deep sea fishing with her husband, spending time with her daughter, hunting and horseback riding.

 


 

Kari Farmer – Veterinary Technician

Kari grew up in the North Richland Hills area after her family moved from Oklahoma when she was young. She grew up loving animals and started volunteering every day after school at a small animal clinic when she was just 13 years of age, which has transitioned to 18 years of experience in veterinary medicine. Kari joined North Texas Veterinary Hospital in March of 2021, where she has been excited to learn and grow her skill set working with the diverse patient population at NTVH. She enjoys educating clients about their pets, horses and livestock. Kari likes to use her granddad’s philosophy she learned growing up, “Learn something new everyday, or it’s a wasted day”.

She has been married to her best friend, Shane, for over 20 years. She is proud to be a law enforcement officer’s wife. They have three beautiful children, Audrie, Jasmyn, and Hunter. Kari and Shane enjoy watching their kids participate in sports and other school activities.
They also live with Shane’s K9 partner, Havoc, and two senior dogs Buddy and Buttercup, and a very rambunctious German Shepherd, Ida. Kari’s free time is spent with her family and friends listening to Texas country music. She and her family are outdoor enthusiasts who
enjoy camping, fishing, hiking, and being on a lake in the summer.

 


 

Malaina Seegers – Veterinary Technician

Malaina grew up in Beaumont, TX in a family involved with livestock. Her grandfather raised miniature horses for the show thus began her love of all things horse. She began riding at a young age and has been involved in the equine community since. Malaina decided to expand her knowledge of livestock in college at Stephen F. Austin State University, where she earned her degree in large animal studies in 2018. She has been primarily an equine veterinary technician throughout her career but is extremely excited to have joined NTVH as the newest member of our mixed animal practice.

 


 

Shea Brown – Veterinary Technician

I grew up in Tulia, TX. I was very involved with 4-H and showing livestock until I graduated. I got my first vet tech job at the age of 14 and have stayed in the industry since.

Met my husband, J.D., in 2008. Moved to Weatherford in 2018. We have 3 kids and a large variety of animals.

 


 

Janine Theal – Receptionist

Janine has been a resident of Weatherford for the past 30 years. She brings to North Texas Veterinary Hospital over 13 years of experience in working as a receptionist in the veterinary field. Her love of animals and people is her motivation. Janine has two grown children, David and Sarah, who both graduated from Weatherford ISD. She also has two granddaughters and one grandson, who are the joy of her life. In her spare time, she enjoys working with the youth at her Church, singing and cake decorating. Titan, Tatiana, Max, Tylie, Queso, Ellie and Gracie are her fur babies that keep her busy at home.

Patty Dudley – Receptionist

Patty was born in Ft. Worth but resides in Perrin, TX with her husband Nathan and two sons, Nathan Jr., and Ethan. She graduated from Perrin High School then attended Weatherford College studying Business Software Programs.

Patty enjoys working with animals so much that after a stent away from the veterinary industry, she returned and joined NTVH in 2019. She has always had a love for animals ever since she was young. Patty grew up with horses, cats, dogs, a ferret, and a rabbit.

Her family raises commercial Dorper sheep, which lead her to joining and becoming an Adult Leader in the Perrin 4-H. Patty enjoys being involved in the community and supporting the kids at county stock shows. She also loves to help with coaching the 12-year-old girls’ volleyball and basketball teams.

Patty is the proud owner of two parrots, Pepper and Sam, for the past 30 years. She also has horses, chickens, rabbits and one llama. She feels truly blessed to be working with animals again.
